Gender and sexuality diversity has existed for thousands of years, across countries, empires, continents, and peoples. Unfortunately, gender and sexuality diversity has been stigmatized in modern society. LGBTQ people face discrimination, bullying, and injustice, oftentimes daily and in extreme conditions.
Luckily, there are ways to combat a negative social environment for LGBTQ people. Many organizations like the Trevor Project, GLSEN, and the Point Foundation advocate for LGBTQ rights and create equality for everyone. Since many LGBTQ teens are at risk for dropping out of school, being kicked out of their homes, and committing suicide, these and many other organizations use their resources to prevent these awful situations. Please consider donating to help their cause.
Part of the solution in reducing hostility towards gender and sexuality diverse people is education. Increasing people's knowledge of the emotions and experiences of LGBTQ people will reduce the stigma and discrimination that they regularly go through. Feel free to explore this page and share it with your friends and family to spread education and open-mindedness.
